A cartridge heater is basically a cylinder shaped; sturdy covered heating element designed to be fitted into precut drilled holes. When used in high watt-density applications its sheathed body diameter is usually micinally turned to fit into the mold hole to enable efficient heat-transfers.
However, the cartridge heater can also be used in other heating methods such as liquid heating or air heating. Depending on the intended application and design, HQ Heating cartridge heater can be designed with up to 200 W/in².
